Use a provider account
AI features require access to a compatible third-party provider, such as OpenAI, Microsoft Azure, or Anthropic. You supply and maintain the appropriate provider account, credentials, or deployment.
AI integration
Create and revise content at any scale, from one field to an entire lesson, while Smart Studio keeps the result structured, editable, and connected to the courseware you are building.
How AI access works
Impression provides the authoring tools and integrations that let external AI models work with your lessons. The models themselves are operated and billed by independent providers.
AI features require access to a compatible third-party provider, such as OpenAI, Microsoft Azure, or Anthropic. You supply and maintain the appropriate provider account, credentials, or deployment.
AI model usage is not included in a Smart Studio subscription. Any model, image, speech, research, or related usage charges are billed under the provider's pricing and terms. These charges are not paid to or collected by Logicdriven.
Model availability, capabilities, privacy, retention, and security depend on the provider and account configuration you choose. Review provider policies before sending sensitive material, and verify generated content before publication.
Work at lesson scale
Give the Lesson Assistant a topic, purpose, audience, requirements, and supporting references. It can create the lesson structure and populate the Storyboards that carry the instruction, interactions, assessments, and supporting content.
For an existing lesson, the assistant can enhance its Storyboards without rebuilding the map, add new Storyboards to extend the lesson, or revise the complete lesson from your instructions. One-pass generation produces a fast first draft; a two-pass workflow builds a valid foundation and then revisits it for greater depth.
Generate a structured lesson from a prompt, lesson template, example lesson, and selected reference files.
Improve the current lesson while preserving the structure and content that should remain unchanged.
Create new Storyboards for an existing lesson and enhance only the newly added material.
A Storyboard is a structured unit of the learner experience. It may present a content layout, ask a question, play media, display a menu, organize part of the lesson, or guide a simulation procedure.
Unlike a simple slide, a Storyboard combines content with the properties, assets, interactions, and behavior needed by the Courseware Engine.
Work at Storyboard scale
The Storyboard Assistant understands the selected Storyboard type and the fields it supports. It can generate a new Storyboard, rewrite an existing one, populate its text and media descriptions, and preserve the structure expected by Scribe and the Courseware Engine.
Because it works with the complete Storyboard rather than a single text box, the assistant can coordinate related fields: instructions, choices, feedback, question data, media, and other properties that must make sense together.
When imagery is part of the design, it can also generate the graphics required by the current Storyboard.
More than generation
Use focused tools when you need help with one part of the work rather than the whole lesson.
Create, rewrite, shorten, expand, or otherwise modify the selected content field using its Storyboard context.
Investigate a subject, work with attached reference material, and carry useful research into the authoring conversation.
Review lesson text, identify issues, and navigate directly to the affected Storyboards.
Check facts and claims throughout the lesson against attached reference documents, organize the supporting evidence and notes, and export the findings for review.
Generate new instructional graphics, create multiple candidates, modify an existing image, and fit output to the target asset dimensions.
Create narration from text and generate timestamped WebVTT captions from audio or video for accessible delivery.
Graphic Factory
Graphic Factory finds the graphic fields defined by the course design and uses their descriptions to produce coordinated visual assets at the scale you choose. Work on the current Storyboard or scan the entire lesson in one run.
Create fast, inexpensive concept graphics so you can compare visual directions before committing.
Use a promising draft as the source for a stronger pre-production graphic.
Generate polished assets, fit them to their intended dimensions, and assign them to the course.
Before generation begins, Graphic Factory identifies eligible targets and estimates the run. Existing production graphics are protected during lesson-wide runs, while current-Storyboard production work can replace assignments when you explicitly choose to do so.
Smart Content Assistant options
The assistant built into Impression Scribe provides the complete AI feature set through ChatGPT. Azure offers the same capabilities as a separately purchased Scribe extension, while the separately purchased Claude extension focuses on lesson, Storyboard, and text generation.
Generate or modify complete lessons, Storyboards, and individual text fields. It also supports graphic generation, text-to-speech, closed-caption generation, and Storyboard template generation.
Provides the same lesson, Storyboard, text, graphic, text-to-speech, closed-caption, and Storyboard template generation capabilities through an organization's Azure AI environment.
Uses Anthropic Claude to generate or modify complete lessons, Storyboards, and individual text content. Graphic generation, audio generation, closed captions, and Storyboard template generation are not included.

The Azure and Claude Smart Content Assistants are optional Scribe extensions purchased from Logicdriven. Those purchases do not include AI model usage. Every assistant requires access to its corresponding third-party AI service, and all model usage charges are billed separately by that provider—not by Logicdriven.
Install Smart Studio and use AI where it adds value—from a single revision to a complete first draft.
