Report Generator

Turn the lesson into the documents around it.

Use the structured data already authored in Impression Scribe to create instructor guides, lesson plans, review documents, media reports, and project-specific Word deliverables.

Data-driven reporting

Create the lesson once. Use its data wherever the work requires.

Titles, instructional text, Storyboard properties, graphics, media references, and other project information already exist in Scribe. Report Generator reads that source directly instead of asking authors to enter and maintain the same information again.

Read

Current lesson data

Work with the complete lesson or the active Storyboard, including common, specific, canvas, asset, location, and package information.

Shape

A reusable definition

Choose the data, document structure, conditional behavior, graphics, headers, footers, and formatting the report requires.

Generate

An editable Word file

Create a working document that can be reviewed, annotated, edited, printed, shared, or incorporated into another process.

Documents for the work

Generate what the project needs.

Report Generator is not limited to a fixed catalog of document types. A report definition can be designed around the information and format required by a customer, program, reviewer, instructor, or production process.

Instructor guides and lesson plans

Organize objectives, instructional content, Storyboard details, media, activities, and other lesson information into a document designed for delivery or planning.

Review and quality assurance

Present current lesson text, properties, identifiers, layouts, and other selected data in a consistent format for inspection and approval.

Media and production reports

List graphics, assets, descriptions, notes, referenced files, missing media, or other information needed to coordinate production.

Storyboard documents

Represent different Storyboard types with layouts suited to their content, such as questions, presentations, interactions, or simulations.

Project-specific deliverables

Combine lesson data and fixed document language to meet a required template, review package, handoff, or contractual deliverable.

Focused extracts

Run a report for the complete lesson or concentrate on the active Storyboard when only one part of the source is needed.

These are examples, not a fixed set of reports. Included definitions provide useful starting points, and new definitions can be created for other document requirements.

Report design

Control both the information and the document.

Build a repeatable Word layout that understands the structure of the courseware.

Paragraphs can combine fixed wording with tokens bound to Scribe properties. Graphics can come from files, lesson assets, Storyboard properties, or a rendered image of the current canvas.

Reusable templates can define a different section for each Storyboard type, while rows, columns, page breaks, headers, footers, page numbers, paper size, and orientation shape the finished document.

Conditional options can hide empty paragraphs, graphics, rows, or columns so the report adapts to the data it finds instead of leaving unused labels and blank spaces.

Bind

Text and properties

Insert lesson and Storyboard values wherever they belong in the document.

Render

Graphics and canvases

Include source imagery or a current visual representation of the authored layout.

Adapt

Conditional sections

Show, hide, repeat, or filter content according to the available data.

One maintained source

Regenerate instead of reconciling.

Separately maintained courseware and production documents begin drifting apart as soon as one of them changes. Report Generator keeps the authored lesson at the center of the process.

When lesson content, media, properties, or structure changes, run the report again to create a document based on the current source. The report definition preserves how that source should be organized and formatted.

This single-source approach reduces duplicate entry, supports consistent deliverables, and makes the documents surrounding a lesson part of a repeatable production system.
