For production teams

Build a repeatable courseware operation.

Smart Studio supports individual authors and coordinated production programs, from local projects to shared SQL Server environments and project-specific Courseware Engine development.

Different roles, shared source

Keep specialists working in the same system.

Instructional designers

Define lesson structure, objectives, assessments, remediation, and learner paths.

  • Reusable lesson templates
  • Storyboard-level editing
  • Review and reporting tools

Subject-matter experts

Contribute and review content without handing every change to a programmer.

  • Structured content editors
  • Live learner preview
  • Clear project context

Developers

Extend both the Scribe authoring environment and learner-facing delivery for specialized requirements.

  • Impression Connect extensions
  • Open XML data model
  • JavaScript Courseware Engine

Program managers

Establish standards, inspect production data, and prepare repeatable deliverables.

  • Project templates and classifications
  • SQL Server deployment option
  • Data-driven reports and packaging

Impression Connect

Fit Scribe to the production environment.

Some programs need more than a standard authoring workflow. Impression Connect makes project-specific web and desktop applications part of Scribe, with access to the active project, lesson, and Storyboard context.

Use Connect extensions for custom editors, content validation, lookup and reporting tools, media-request workflows, discrepancy tracking, or integration with external production systems. Administrators can configure the extensions available to each project and control when they appear.

Production environment

Choose the deployment model that fits the work.

Authors can work with portable project databases for smaller or controlled efforts, while SQL Server supports centralized project data, network access, and managed credentials for larger production groups.

Viewer templates, lesson templates, SCORM packaging, xAPI configuration, report definitions, and Courseware Engine files help organizations standardize how new projects begin and how finished lessons are delivered.

Report definitions can turn current lesson data into consistent review packages, media requirements, quality checks, and other project-specific documents. As the lesson changes, the documents can be regenerated from the source instead of updated separately by hand.

Deployment and licensing requirements should be reviewed for each organization, particularly for secured networks, classified environments, virtual infrastructure, and custom Courseware Engine distribution.

Services

Use the product alone or bring us into the project.

Logicdriven can support the parts of the program that go beyond an off-the-shelf installation.

Courseware Engine development

Define and build project-specific presentation, navigation, interaction, and delivery behavior.

Simulation integration

Design interfaces and control architecture for external or purpose-built simulations.

Production setup

Configure data storage, project standards, workflows, reports, and delivery conventions.

Training

Prepare content developers, administrators, and programmers to work effectively with the system.

Migration planning

Evaluate established Impression content, delivery code, and production practices for a Smart Studio transition.

Program support

Address specialized authoring, integration, deployment, and long-term production needs.

Existing customers

Move forward without discarding what works.

Smart Studio is the next generation of the Impression approach: structured source content, project-specific delivery, and an open data model. Long-standing customers can evaluate migration based on their actual databases, custom Storyboards, Courseware Engine code, reporting, and deployment requirements.

A migration conversation should identify what can move directly, what benefits from conversion, and what should remain project-specific. That assessment is a better starting point than treating every legacy program as identical.
